 Maybe you should try and get that parent to open up about whatever is troubling them. All too often it's the fault of the parent: they may resent you for being born at all. Now, as hard as that is to hear it's a fact and I know this one from experience. It could also be to do with the other parent: if they have left and hurt them badly they may resent you because of it, be it you look like or are like that parent. How many times have I heard you're just like your father? It made me feel so ashamed also but now I wish I'd said: well I ought to be he is my father haha. I suppose this situation depends on if you know why they feel like this. Is there something you may have done in your past, made a choice that they found hard to accept? Married someone they didn't like? If it's the last one well you're entitled to be with whomever you please regardless of whether a parent likes it but I'm wondering where this evident dislike from your parent is coming from. You may need to try and speak to them to find out why this is the because believe me the not knowing is so much worse.
