I still carry and affection for her.

I hated Illinois when I first lived there when I met my ex, she was someone who was interested in what I had to talk about, and I was interested in learning about her. We ended up going to several concerts together, so a bunch of movies, tried different restaurants, and I ran to color runs that I never thought I would actually do.

Spite of how we ended, I am thankful for our time together. I could be angry, but why would I ruin these good memories with anger and resentment?

Krishna was testing whether their devotion to God-in-human-form was greater than their worldly bonds with wealth and their children. His dancing with the Gopikās was to test whether their devotion was stronger than their bond with their life partners. Jesus told His devotees that He had come to separate His devotees from their families by creating quarrels. The meaning of this is that He had come to break the worldly bonds of devotees.
